Service Committees

South King County Area Narcotics Anonymous has a number of service committees to help us carry out our work. To get involved in service and enhance your recovery contact our 24 hour Help-Line (see top of main menu) or send an email from the contact us page.

Area Service Committee (ASC)
The Area Service Committee (ASC) includes Group Service Representatives (GSR), elected Officers, and Subcommittee Chairpersons who meet monthly. The ASC does most of the work in NA so that the NA groups can focus on their primary purpose, delivering the message to the still suffering addict.

The ASC meets at the Manhattan Community Center in Burien, also known as: Highline Area Food Bank.

Directions Tip: As you near the destination, you will want to turn onto S 183rd St. It will be the dirt road. Follow it down until you reach the open parking lot.
Meeting Schedule:
The Area Service Committee (ASC) meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month. New GSR orientation starts at 6:15 PM, followed by the ASC meeting at 7:00 PM. The meeting is held at the Manhattan Community Center, 18300 4th Avenue South, Burien, WA 98148.


Activities
The Activities Subcommittee organizes dances, picnics, speaker meetings and special events. Activities like these help to provide a greater sense of unity for the Area NA Fellowship.

The Activities Subcommittee meets on the 1st Sunday of each month, at 2:00 PM. The meeting is held at the Recovery Garage, 230 1st St NE, WA, Auburn, WA 98002.


Directories
The Directories subcommittee formats, maintains and prints our Dual-Area meeting schedule. The meeting schedules are distributed to Groups at the Area Service Committee (ASC) meetings.
Meeting Schedule:
The Directories Subcommittee meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month, at 7:00 PM. The meeting is held at the Manhattan Community Center, 18300 4th Avenue South, Burien, WA 98148.


Helpline
The Helpline subcommittee, at the area level, establishes, maintains and coordinates an effective 24-hour, seven day a week answering service. * Orientation begins at 11:00 AM.
Meeting Schedule:
The Helpline Subcommittee meets on the last Sunday of each month, at 10:30 AM. The meeting is held at the Recovery Garage, 230 1st St NE, Auburn, WA 98002.


Hospitals & Institutions (H&I)
The Hospitals and Institutions (H&I) Subcommittee exists to carry the message of recovery from addiction to facilities whose residents are restricted from full access to regular Narcotics Anonymous meetings. * Orientation begins at 11:00 AM.
Meeting Schedule:
The Hospitals & Institutions (H&I) Subcommittee meets on the last Sunday of each month, at 12:00 PM. The meeting is held at the Recovery Garage, 230 1st St NE, Auburn, WA 98002.


Literature
The Literature Subcommittee provides access to NA literature for the Area groups on a monthly basis.
Meeting Schedule:
The Literature Subcommittee meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month, at 7:00 PM. The meeting is held at the Manhattan Community Center, 18300 4th Avenue South, Burien, WA 98148.


Public Relations (PR)
The purpose of the Public Relations (PR) Subcommittee is to serve as the link between NA and the general public. The Subcommittee will be responsible for establishing contact with all organizations, agencies, educational institutions, businesses, groups or individuals who, through their contact with active drug users and/or the general public, can help to create awareness of NA, its program, purpose, and availability.

Web Services
The Web Services Subcommittee's purpose is to maintain a web site that provides information about the South King County Area and Narcotics Anonymous as a whole, made available to the public (addicts and non-addicts) who might need NA, and to our current members.

Crystal Clear Retreat
The Crystal Clear Retreat is a co-ed weekend Retreat held at the SKIBACS lodge at Crystal Mountain annually.
Meeting Schedule:
The Crystal Clear Retreat Subcommittee meets on the 1st Thursday of each month, at 6:30 PM. The meeting is held at the Trotter's Restuarant, 825 Harvey Rd, Auburn, WA 98002.


Day of the Dinosaurs (DOD)
Day of the Dinosaurs (DOD) is an all day WNIRCNA fundraising event held annually. It formed it's name by hosting Speakers with 20+ years clean, referred to as 'NA Dinosaurs'.

The Day of the Dinosaurs (DOD) Subcommittee meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month, at 6:30 PM. The meeting is held at the Trotter's Restuarant, 825 Harvey Rd, Auburn, WA 98002.


Men's Retreat
SKCNA Men's Retreat is a men's only weekend retreat held at the SKIBACS lodge at Crystal Mountain annually.
Meeting Schedule:
The Men's Retreat Subcommittee meets on the 1st Sunday of each month, at 5:30 PM. The meeting is held at the Trotter's Restaurant in Auburn, 825 Harvey Rd, Auburn, WA 98002.


Strength Among Spirtual Sisters (S.A.S.S.)
The S.A.S.S. Retreat is a women's only weekend retreat held annually.

The Strength Among Spirtual Sisters (S.A.S.S.) Subcommittee meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month, at 6:00 PM. The meeting is held at the Recovery Garage, 230 1st St NE, Auburn, WA 98002.


Winter Winners
Winter Winners was formed in 1983 by the South King Area and Pierce County Area of Narcotics Anonymous. It is a celebration of staying clean through the holiday season, which as many of us are aware, is often difficult for recovering addicts. Winter Winners helps further our primary purpose by building unity among the Fellowship of NA within the South King Area and Pierce County Area.
Meeting Schedule:
The Winter Winners Subcommittee meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, at 6:30 PM. The meeting is held at the Poodle Dog Restaurant, 1522 54th Ave E, Fife, WA 98424.


Young Peoples Convention
Young People's Convention is a new event for the south King County Area. the first one is in planning. stay tuned for more info as it develops.

The Young Peoples Convention Subcommittee meets on the 3rd Sunday of each month, at 5:00 PM. The meeting is held at the Recovery Garage, 230 1st St NE, Auburn, WA 98002.
